Green technology innovation,carbon emissions and manufacturing upgrading
Based on the mathematical logic of green technology innovation and manufacturing upgrading,a bi-directional fixed-effect model was constructed using panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2005 to 2021,and carbon emission as a mediator variable was introduced to empirically test the influence of the variables.The findings are as follows:(1)Green technology innovation can effectively promote the rationalization and advanced development of manufacturing industry;②After the endogenous control and robustness test,the conclusion of this paper is still valid;(3)The impact of green technology innovation on manufacturing upgrading is heterogeneous in the eastern and central regions of China due to their different economic development and resource endowment.(4)Carbon emissions have an intermediary effect,and green technology innovation can promote the upgrading of manufacturing industry by reducing carbon emissions.Therefore,in the process of upgrading the manufacturing industry in the future,it is necessary to break through the bottleneck of green technology innovation in the manufacturing industry,especially in the heavily polluting industry,break through the"information island",and build an effective and safe exchange platform for green technology.At the same time,it is necessary to pay attention to the protection of the environment in the process of promoting the upgrading of the manufacturing industry,and avoid negative externalities in the process of promoting the upgrading of the manufacturing industry through green technology innovation.
