Objective:Exploring the application effect of workshop health education model in improving the self-management ability of ophthalmic patients in eye drops.Methods:160 ophthalmology inpatients from a tertiary care hospital in Hefei were selected as the control group and 163 cases as the experimental group. The control group received health education on the use of conventional eye drops, while the experimental group added a workshop health education model on the basis of health education on the use of conventional eye drops. On the day of discharge, we compared the scores of knowledge related with eye drops, satisfaction and self-management ability in eye drop between the two groups. Results:There was no statistical difference in the baseline information between the two groups of patients. There were statistically significant differences in the assessment scores, satisfaction scores and eye drop management ability between the two groups of patients at discharge (P<0.05). The scores of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group. Conclusion:Adopting a workshop health education model can improve the self-management ability of ophthalmic patients in the application of eye drops.
