Objective:To understand the current situation of medical students'awareness of public health emergencies and their demand for public health practical skills in a medical school in Anhui Province,and to provide a basis for strengthening public health practical skills education in medical colleges and universities.Methods:A random sample of 300 students from a medical school in Anhui Province was selected through a self-administered questionnaire on the awareness of public health emergencies and the demand for public health practice skills,and the survey was conducted with the help of a questionnaire application.Results:The average score of public health emergencies was(61.8±15.87),with a pass rate of 62.3%,23.3%of the students had participated in public health practical skills training,and 90.7%of the students thought it was necessary to conduct public health practical skills training.Conclusion:The awareness of medical college students about public health emergencies is of average level,their coping ability is poor,and the degree of need for training is high.Activities such as scenario simulation,on-site training and competitions can be combined,with equal emphasis on theory and practice,to effectively improve the awareness and ability of public health practice among medical college students.
