Objective:To study the impacts of acupoint application combined with meridian massage on patients with chronic low back and leg pain.Methods:102 patients accepted by our hospital were regarded as study subjects and randomly separated into a reference group(51 cases)and an observed group(51 cases)using a random number table method.Reference group received routine treatment and meridian massage treatment, while observed group received routine treatment, meridian massage treatment, and acupoint application treatment. The clinical efficacy, hospitalization time, pain duration, and pain frequency before and after treatment were compared between the two groups;the degree of pain, swelling, and functional limitation of patients were evaluated using Visual evaluate the lumbar and lower limb functions of patients before and after treatment. Results:The clinical efficacy of observed group was obviously better than that of reference group(P<0.05).he observed group had shorter hospitalization time and pain duration, and lower frequency of pain attacks than reference group(P<0.05).the VAS,swelling, and functional limitation scores of observed group were lower than those of reference group(P<0.05).the JOA and FMAS scores of observed group were higher than those of reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupoint application combined with meridian massage can effectively improve the clinical efficacy of patients with chronic low back and leg pain, reduce the degrees of pain, swelling, and functional limitation, improve the lumbar and lower limb functions of patients, and reduce the recurrence rate.
