Objective:To investigate the factors affecting the speed of correction of coronal deformity of knee joint in children treated with figure 8 plate. Methods:Data of coronal surface malformations of lower limbs (varus or valgus) treated with figure-8 plates from January 2015 to January 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The lateral Angle of the distal anatomic axis of the femur and the medial Angle of the proximal tibia were measured in 114 cases of epiphysis. The general information of patients and the related factors that may affect the therapeutic effect of 8 plate were studied. Results:The average correction speed was 0.57° per month and the average age was 9.78 years.Univariate analysis showed that age, placement time and body weight were negatively correlated with the correction speed, and the correction speed of the distal femur was faster than that of the proximal tibia (P=0.039).Multiple linear regression showed that the speed of correction was significantly affected by surgical age, block site and placement time (all P<0.05).The monthly correction rate of the distal femur was 0.23° higher than that of the proximal tibia.Age and time of placement were negatively correlated with the speed of correction. Conclusion:The speed of correction of coronal deformity of knee joint in children with hemiepiphysial block correction was related to the age of operation, the time of placement and the block site.Clinical treatment should be considered according to the patient's own situation, and close follow-up should be conducted after surgery.
