Hyperuricemia is prevailing in modern society,and its incidence has been on the rise.Studies have found that the level of serum uric acid is not only related to endocrine diseases,but also involved in cardiovascular diseases,chronic kidney disease,and even has a certain diagnostic value for neurodegenerative diseases,which can lead to cognitive dysfunction.In recent years,many clinical and experimental studies have shown the relationship between hyperuricemia and cognitive function,but there is no conclusive evidence to confirm its effects on cognition.This paper summarized the current researches on the possible role of uric acid in cognitive function.
