Objective:To explore the application effect of self-study guidance in clinical teaching of nursing interns.Methods:A total of 128 nursing students who were undertaking internships in the general surgery department of The First Affiliated Hospital of USTC were conveniently selected as the research subjects.Among them,63 nursing students in 2022 were assigned to the control group and received conventional teaching methods,while 65 nursing students in 2023 were designated as the experimental group and were taught using the self-study guidance in clinical teaching on the basis of conventional teaching.The theoretical and operational performance,core competencies,job engagement,course participation and teaching satisfaction for both groups of interns were evaluated.Results:The experimental nursing students'theoretical scores,operational scores,course participation,core competencies,work engagement,and satisfaction with teaching in the experimental group were better than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Self-study guidance method is helpful to improve the core competence of nursing students,work commitment and teaching satisfaction,and provide theoretical and practical basis for the establishment of clinical nursing teaching mode of general surgery self-study guidance method in the future.
