Macbeth is a representative work among William Shakespeare's four great tragedies, which is full of power, violence, and bloodshed. The power discourse relationship hidden in the work is particularly evident, coincidentally aligning with Michel Foucault's views on power/discourse theory. The paper takes Foucault's power/discourse theory as the entry point for textual analysis, dissecting Shakespeare's classic tragedy Macbeth to examine the power and rules constructed by knowledge and discourse in the play,as well as the flow of power and role transformation.
