Clinical Study of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Early Age-related Macular Degeneration
Objective:To explore the effect of Yangxue Yiqing Decoction on improving early age-related macular degener-ation and its effect on the choroid.Methods:50 patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group.25 patients in the observation group were treated with oral Chinese medicine Yangxue Yiqing Decoction, and 25 patients in the control group were treated with vitamin C supplementation. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The visual recovery of the patients in the two groups, the changes in the central macular thickness and foveal choroidal thickness before and after treatment in the two groups, and the clinical efficacy of the two groups were observed. Results:The number of ETDRS letters after treatment in both groups was better than before treatment(P<0.05).The number of letters in ETDRS after treatment and the difference in the number of letters in ETDRS before and after treatment in the observation group were both better than those in the control group(P<0.05);There was no statistical difference in CMT and CMT difference(P>0.05).The SFCT after treatment in both groups was better than before treatment(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference in SFCT after treatment between the 2 groups(P>0.05).The observation group The SFCT difference before and after treatment was better than that of the control group(P<0.05);the clinical efficacy of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The traditional Chinese medicine Yangxue Yiqing Decoction has good clinical efficacy in treating early AMD.It can improve the visual quality of patients and increase the thickness of the choroidal fovea.
