Research Progress of Traditional Chinese Medicine Regulating TGF-β1/Smad Signaling Pathway in the Prevention and Treatment of Hepatic Fibrosis
Liver fibrosis is an extremely important pathological process in the progression of various chronic liver diseases to malignant liver diseases such as cirrhosis and liver cancer.Liver cirrhosis and liver cancer are irreversible, but liver fibrosis is not completely reversible. At present, the treatment of liver fibrosis at home and abroad is mainly based on removal of pathogenic factors or symptomatic treatment, and there is still a lack of specific therapeutic drugs.Traditional Chinese medicine can effectively antagonize the occurrence and development of liver fibrosis by inhibiting the transduction of the TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway. This review screened relevant experimental research litera-ture in the past five years, focusing on the role of TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway in liver fibrosis, traditional Chinese medicine's understanding of liver fibrosis, and traditional Chinese medicine's targeted regulation of TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway for prevention and treatment.Three aspects of research on liver fibrosis are summarized to provide researchers in this field with ideas on traditional Chinese medicine.
