The incidence of vascular dementia (VaD) is increasing year by year with the aging of the social popula-tion. Its pathogenesis is complex and is mainly related to central choline system dysfunction, inflammatory response, oxidative stress, apoptosis, intestinal Tract flora dysbiosis, neurotoxicity and other factors are closely related. In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine compounds have been widely used clinically, with the advantages of multiple targets and few adverse reactions. Research on the pathogenesis of VaD and preventive and therapeutic drugs has important social value. Therefore, this article systematically reviews the domestic and foreign literature on the treatment of VaD with traditional Chinese medicine compound preparations, and summarizes its pathogenesis and clinical action mecha-nism of the prescriptions.
