Efficacy of Nitroglycerin Ointment Combined with Jiuhua Hemorrhoids Suppository in the Treatment of Postoperative Pain in Patients with Mixed Hemorrhoids
Objective: To observe the efficacy of nitroglycerin ointment combined with Jiuhua hemorrhoid supposi-tory on postoperative pain in patients with mixed hemorrhoids. Methods: A total of 70 patients with mixed hemorrhoids who were admitted to the Second Anorectal Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Tradi-tional Chinese Medicine from May 2022 to November 2022 and underwent external stripping and internal ligation of mixed hemorrhoids were selected. They were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 35 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were given Antai ointment for dressing change after surgery, and 1 Ji-uhua hemorrhoid suppository was taken into the anus once a day; the patients in the observation group were given nitro-glycerin ointment for dressing change after surgery, and the rest were the same as the control group. The postoperative pain level, usage rate of additional analgesics, wound edge edema, and adverse reactions were compared between the 2 groups of patients. Results: During the treatment period, the pain VAS scores of the observation group on the fourth day after surgery and the first defecation were lower than those of the control group; the usage rate of additional analgesics in the observation group on the fourth day after surgery was 11.43%, which was significantly better than that of the con-trol group (37.14% ); the wound edge edema score on the 4th and 7th day after surgery, the VAS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant. Conclusion: Nitroglyc-erin ointment combined with Jiuhua hemorrhoid suppository can reduce postoperative anal pain in patients with mixed hemorrhoids, reduce the incidence of wound edge edema, and help promote wound repair.
