Acupuncture Improves the Clinical Pregnancy Rate of Patients with Frozen-thawed Embryo Transfer: a Retrospective Cohort Study
Objective: To explore the effect of acupuncture therapy on pregnancy outcomes of frozen embryo transfer during in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer. Research content: Retrospective analysis of the data of patients who under-went frozen-thawed embryo transfer in the reproductive center from January 2019 to December 2021, and 326 cycles (155 in the acupuncture group and 171 in the control group) were included according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Statistical analysis was performed on the baseline levels between patients and various parameters during frozen-thaw em-bryo transfer, and the impact of acupuncture treatment on clinical pregnancy outcomes was analyzed through binary logis-tic regression. Results: Compared with the control group, the acupuncture group achieved a higher clinical pregnancy rate [48.4% vs 31.0%, adjusted OR: 1.141, 95%CI: 0.356-1.349, P=0.001]. The two groups were better at implantation rate [35.6% vs 22.9%, adjusted OR: 0.938, 95% CI: (0.808-1.077), P=0.176], live birth rate [31.0% vs 24.6%, adjusted OR:0.935 , 95%CI: 0.810-1.219, P=0.067] and early miscarriage rate [12.9% vs 5.8%, adjusted OR: 0.841, 95%CI: 0.775-2.125, P=0.122]. There is no statistically significant difference. Conclusion: Acupuncture therapy can improve the clinical pregnancy rate of frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles in in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer patients.
