Discussion on the Research Progress of Chinese and Western Medicine Intervention in Asthma based on the Theory of Lung-gut Axis
Bronchial asthma is a common clinical respiratory disease characterized by chronic inflammation of the airways, and its pathogenesis remains unclear. In recent years, the rapid development of microbiology and molecular biology has made the concept of "lung-gut axis" a new hot topic. The lung-gut axis refers to the interaction and regu-latory mechanism that exists between the respiratory system and intestinal microorganisms. This view is similar to the theory of "the lungs and the large intestine are externally and internally" in traditional Chinese medicine. With the in-creasing number of asthma diseases, the lung-gut axis has become a topic of great concern. In-depth study of the lung-gut axis may help to find new targets for the treatment of asthma. Clinical experience shows that the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of asthma can significantly improve lung function indicators and clinical evaluation standards, and can reduce the recurrence rate of asthma and control the use of drugs. Among them, Western medicine uses antibiotics as the main method to treat asthma, which has the advantage of quick results, but it is also easy to cause adverse reactions. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment has significant advantages in re-ducing asthma symptoms, reducing adverse reactions, and improving quality of life. Among them, traditional Chinese medicine techniques such as acupuncture and massage can enhance defense and regulate immune function. Integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine to intervene in asthma has obvious clinical efficacy and broad application prospects. Therefore, this study explains the research progress of traditional Chinese and Western medicine in asthma intervention through the lung-gut axis theory, and conducts detailed and in-depth mechanism exploration, aiming to provide a basis for clinically adopting reasonable traditional Chinese and Western medicine intervention measures for asthma through the lung-gut axis theory.
