A Preliminary Study on the Prevention and Treatment of Prediabetes based on the Theory of"Strengthening the Foundation and Nourishing the Essence"
Pre-diabetes mellitus(PDM)is a chronic metabolic disease caused by multiple factors.It has an insidi-ous onset and is easily ignored.Once it is allowed to progress to the diabetic stage,it will almost cause irreversible damage to the patient.The theory of strengthening the foundation and nourishing the essence is the crystallization of the clinical experience and wisdom of Xin'an Medicine for hundreds of years.It advocates"protecting the foundation of the innate and acquired nature and nourishing the body's vitality"to prevent and treat diseases.This article traces the origin of the theory of strengthening the foundation and nourishing the essence through the TCM understanding of PDM and the theory of strengthening the foundation and nourishing the essence,and combines clinical relevant diagnosis and treatment experience with modern medical research to explain the new idea of preventing and treating PDM based on the theory of strengthening the foundation and nourishing the essence.The theory of strengthening the foundation and nourishing the essence emphasizes nourishing the body's essence in two directions,namely the spleen and kidney,so as to achieve the effect of strengthening the body,eliminating evil and preventing evil,which deeply reflects the idea of TCM to prevent before the disease.The most important purpose of intervening in PDM is to prevent it from further de-veloping into diabetes.Taking the theory of strengthening the foundation and nourishing the vital energy as the guiding ideology,the prescription and medication are used to give full play to the advantages of TCM in preventing diseases be-fore they occur,and the comprehensive and individualized treatment is of great significance for the clinical prevention and treatment of PDM.
