Analyzing the Experience of Xin'an Medical Doctor WANG Wenqi in Treating Miscellaneous Diseases of Women from the Record of Miscellaneous Diseases of the Heart
The Record of Miscellaneous Diseases was written by WANG Wenqi,a doctor in the Qing Dynasty,in his later years. It reflects WANG Wenqi's rich clinical experience. The book records 14 miscellaneous diseases of women,involving 36 prescriptions,mainly miscarriage,postpartum diarrhea,postpartum blood fainting,postpartum and other miscellaneous diseases of women. Among them,postpartum diseases are the most common,and most of the prescrip-tions are tonics and blood-removing agents. This paper conducts an in-depth study on the miscellaneous diseases of women recorded in the book,and summarizes the characteristics of WANG Wenqi's prescriptions and medications for the treatment of miscellaneous diseases of women:① Follow the method of Jingyue,emphasizing the spleen and kidney;② Learn from the ancients but not stick to the ancients,and use the method of round mechanism and flexible method in clinical practice;③ Women's diseases are particularly important for the spleen and stomach,and tonifying the mid-dle to protect the true essence;④ Distinguish the pathogenesis of postpartum deficiency and excess,and emphasize the blood and Qi step by step;⑤ Be good at tonic in clinical diagnosis and treatment,and do not stick to the prescriptions and medications. WANG Wenqi was flexible in his use of drugs in clinical practice,attached importance to the spleen and kidney,clearly identified the condition,prescribed exquisite prescriptions,and used drugs directly to the patho-genesis. His clinical thinking and drug use rules are worthy of in-depth study and research by future generations.
