Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive chronic inflammatory interstitial lung disease of unknown etiology. IPF is one of the most difficult diseases in the world with high mortality. At present,there are only Nidanib and Pirfenidone in the world which can be used conditionally. However,the side effects of Nidanib and Pirfe-nidone are great. Therefore,it is urgent to find a safe,efficient and economical drug to treat IPF. Because of its unique advantages of multi-target,multi-link,multi-level and multi-pathway,in recent years,the treatment of IPF with TCM has made certain progress in theory and clinical aspects. The article is based on the theory of "damp heat"As the theo-retical basis,this article summarizes the related research in recent years from the aspects of etiology and pathogenesis,the source of damp-heat accumulating in the lung,blood stasis,deficiency and toxicity,clinical treatment methods and experience,in order to provide new ideas for treatment and improve clinical efficacy.
