Clinical Effect of Modified Taohong Siwu Decoction Combined with External Binxiao Powder on Early Rehabilitation after Unicompartmental knee Arthroplasty
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Taohong Siwu Decoction combined with Bingxi-aosan external application in early rehabilitation after unicompartmental knee arthroplasty(UKA).Methods:A total of 60 patients who were hospitalized for UKA for the first time in Lu'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital affiliated to Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine due to knee osteoarthritis from January 2023 to December 2023 were selected as the research subjects and were divided into an observation group and a control group according to the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional treatment, and the observation group was given oral modified Taohong Siwu Decoction combined with Bingxiaosan external application on the first day after surgery on the basis of the control group, and the treatment lasted for two weeks. The visual analog(VAS)score, knee swelling value, joint range of motion(ROM),American Hospital for Special Surgery(HSS)score and serum inflammatory factors(IL-6,TNF-α)levels of patients in the two groups at different time points were compared. Results:At 1 week and 2 weeks after surgery, the VAS score, knee swelling value and serum inflammatory factors(IL-6,TNF-α)levels of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05),and the knee ROM and HSS scores were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).No obvious adverse reactions occurred in the two groups. Conclusion:Modified Taohong Siwu Decoction combined with Bingxiao powder external application can signifi-cantly relieve swelling and pain after UKA,improve joint mobility and inhibit inflammatory response, which is benefi-cial to the early rehabilitation of patients after surgery. It has a definite effect and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
