Analysis of Frequency and Influencing Factors of Health Communication by Medical Staff in Public Hospitals of Anhui Province
Objective:To propose corresponding improvement measures and provide evidence to promote health communication by investigating the current situation and obstacles faced by medical staff in public hospitals of Anhui Province in disseminating health science knowledge.Methods:A self-designed questionnaire was used to survey some medical staff in public hospitals of Anhui Province,and the data were subjected to Descriptive analysis and Chi-square tests.Results:Among the 1167 valid questionnaires,the numbers of medical staff who never,occasionally,often,or always disseminate health science knowledge were 5(0.43%),325(27.85%),673(57.67%),and 164(14.05%)respectively;436 medical staff(37.36%)reported no obstacles in disseminating health science knowledge,while 731(62.64%)encountered obstacles.Conclusion:Medical staff have a high degree of recognition and willingness to partic-ipate in health communication,but there is a lack of action.The main barriers affecting the health communication are:insufficient time and energy,lack of unified official channels,lack of relevant skills,insufficient motivation,lack of social recognition or public approval,and lack of a conducive work atmosphere.The improvement measures suggested include:strengthening social and internal hospital publicity,establishing a provincial unified dissemination platform,conducting training,paying work remuneration,employing full-time staff,integrating into hospital performance man-agement,and providing corresponding policy support."
