The Effect of Wrist Ankle Acupuncture Combined with Hydroxycodone Hydrochloride in the Treatment of Chronic Cancer Pain and its Impact on Pain Mediators
To explore the effect of wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with oxycodone hydrochloride in the treat-ment of chronic cancer pain and its effect on pain mediators. Methods:A total of 126 patients with chronic cancer pain admitted to Zhumadian Central Hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were randomly divided into two groups,63 cases in each group. The control group was treated with oxycodone hydrochloride, and the combined group was treated with wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with oxycodone hydrochloride. The efficacy, pain conditions[visual analogue scale(VAS),number of breakthrough pains],pain mediators[5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT),prostaglandin E2(PGE2),interleukin-1β(IL-1β)],and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:Compared with the control group, the total effective rate of the combined group was higher(P<0.05).There was no difference in VAS scores and number of breakthrough pains between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the VAS scores and number of breakthrough pains in the combined group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no difference in 5-HT,PGE2,and IL-1β between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the levels of 5-HT,PGE2,and IL-1β in the combined group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Wrist-ankle acu-puncture combined with oxycodone hydrochloride is beneficial for improving the level of pain mediators, reducing the degree of pain, and reducing the number of breakthrough pains in patients with chronic cancer pain. The treatment is safe and effective.
