Objective:To observe the effect of the combination of Wuqin exercise and acupuncture on patients with grade 1 Essential Hypertension(EH),and explore its mechanism.Methods:68 patients with grade 1 EH were randomly divided into a group that combined the Five Animals Exercise with acupuncture:34 patients,with 3 dropouts,and an acupuncture group:34 patients,with 2 dropouts.The acupuncture group received acupuncture treatment,while the group that combined the Five Animals Exercise with acupuncture received acupuncture treatment plus Five Animals Exercise training,twice a day,five days a week.Both groups were treated for 12 weeks,and their blood pressure values and hs-CRP levels were observed before and after treatment,and the efficacy of lowering blood pressure was evaluated.Results:After treatment,both groups of patients had lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure than be-fore treatment(P<0.01),and the combined group of Wuzhi exercise and acupuncture had lower blood pressure than the acupuncture group(P<0.05).After treatment,the level of hs-CRP in the serum of both groups of patients was lower than before treatment(P<0.01),and the combined group of Wuzhi exercise and acupuncture was lower than the acupuncture group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the combined group of Wuzhi exercise and acupuncture was 87.10%(27/31),which was higher than the acupuncture group's 53.12%(17/32).Conclusion:Wuqin exercise com-bined with acupuncture can reduce the blood pressure of patients with grade 1 EH,the mechanism may be related to the down-regulation of the expression of inflammatory factors in vivo.
