Diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)is a common complication of diabetes mellitus(DM),with high morbidity and disability rates.In recent years,with the development of modern medicine's understanding of the dis-ease and diagnostic methods,its pathogenesis has gained more new insights,but it is still not fully elucidated.This article conducts a comprehensive search of literature related to DPN in recent years,and comprehensively reviews the clinical diagnosis and treatment of DPN from the perspectives of traditional Chinese medicine,Western medicine,and both traditional Chinese and Western medicine,in order to provide a theoretical basis for the clinical research and treatment of DPN.
