Clinical Effect of Tongguanteng Injection Combined with the SOX Regimen in Treatment of Ad-vanced Gastric Cancer
Objective To investigate the efficacy of Tongguanteng Injection combined with the SOX regimen in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer. Methods A total of 60 patients with advanced gastric cancer were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 30 patients in each group. The patients in the control group received standard chemotherapy with the SOX regimen, while those in the observation group received Tongguanteng Injection in addition to the SOX regimen.Relat-ed indicators were measured before and after treatment, including the serum levels of carcinoembryonic antigen, carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125),carbohydrate antigen 153,and carbohydrate antigen 199 (CA199),liver and renal function, serum albu-min,platelet count,lymphocytes,neutrophils,monocytes,neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR).Karnofsky's Performance Scale (KPS)was used to evaluate quality of life, and the two groups were compared in terms of overall survival (OS)and progression-free survival (PFS).Results Compared with the control group, the observa-tion group had significant reductions in the serum levels of CA125,CA199,and PLR and a significant increase in KPS score,as well as significantly better results in preventing the reductions in serum albumin and lymphocytes and prolonging OS and PFS (P<0.05).Conclusion Tongguanteng Injection combined with the SOX regimen can effectively enhance therapeutic efficacy and reduce toxicity in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer, and it can also reduce the adverse reactions caused by chemo-therapy drugs and prolong the survival of patients.
