Clinical Effect of Fangfeng Tongsheng Powder Combined with Microneedle Induction of Minoxidil in Treatment of Androgenic Alopecia with Spleen-Stomach Damp-Heat Syndrome
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Fangfeng Tongsheng Powder combined with microneedle induction of minoxidil in the treatment of androgenic alopecia with spleen-stomach damp-heat syndrome. Methods Atotal of 60 patients with androgenic alopecia with spleen-stomach damp-heat syndrome were randomly divided into control group and treatment group, with 30 patients in each group. The patients in the control group received microneedle induction of minoxidil, while those in the treatment group received oral administration of modified Fangfeng Tongsheng Powder in addition to the treatment in the control group. Before and after treatment, the two groups were observed and compared in terms of alopecia symptoms,spleen-stomach damp-heat symptoms,hair-relat-ed indices under dermoscopy, lipid metabolism levels, and adverse reactions. Results After treatment, compared with the control group, the treatment group had significantly better improvements in hair density and number of erect regenerated hairs and significant reductions in the number of pilosebaceous hairs, the number of single hair follicle units, and brown hair circumference sign under dermos-copy,as well as significant reductions in the scores of alopecia, scalp pruritus, greasy hair, dandruff, and absence of new hair (P<0.05). After treatment, the treatment group had significant reductions in the scores of dry mouth/bitter taste, poor appetite, loose stool, and weakness and the serum levels of total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (P<0.05),as well as a significant increase in the serum level of high-density lipoprotein (P<0.05),while the control group showed no significant improvements in the above indica-tors after treatment (P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Modified Fangfeng Tongsheng Powder combined with microneedle induction of minoxidil has a marked clinical effect in the treatment of androgenic alopecia with spleen-stomach damp-heat syndrome, with a favorable safety profile.
