Clinical Efficacy of Fire Needle Combined with No.2 Decoction for Plasma Cell Mastitis in Treatment of Non-puerperal Mastitis in the Abscess Stage
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of fire needle combined with No.2 Decoction for plasma cell mastitis in the treatment of non-puerperal mastitis (NPM)in the abscess stage.Methods A total of 90 patients with NPM were ran-domly divided into experimental group and control group at a ratio of 1∶1,with 45 patients in each group.Both groups were given oral administration of No.2 Decoction for plasma cell mastitis,and in addition,the patients in the control group were given puncture for pumping pus or incision and drainage,while those in the experimental group were given fire needle therapy.The course of treatment was 12 weeks for both groups.The two groups were observed in terms of the area of breast abscess,the area and volume of breast mass,the numerical rating scale (NRS)score for breast pain,white blood cell count (WBC),neutrophils percentage (N％)and C-reactive protein (CRP)level at different time points before and after treatment.The shape of the breast was evaluated at the end of week 12,and the safety of the treatment method was observed during treatment.Results Two patients in the experimental group and 3 in the control group were lost to follow-up.After treatment,both groups had significant reductions in the area of breast abscess,the area and volume of breast mass,the NRS score for breast pain,WBC,N％,and CRP level (P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the experimental group had significantly grea-ter reductions in WBC and the percentage of neutrophils (P<0.05)and significantly better results of the reductions in the area of breast abscess,the area and volume of breast mass,and the NRS score for breast pain (P<0.05).At the end of week 12,the experimental group had significantly better evaluation results of breast shape than the control group (P<0.05).No obvi-ous adverse events were observed in either group during treatment.Conclusion Fire needle combined with No.2 Decoction for plasma cell mastitis can reduce breast abscess and eliminate swelling in the abscess stage of NPM,thereby alleviating breast pain and inhibiting inflammatory response in NPM,with a rapid onset of action and little trauma,and there are no obvious ad-verse events.
