Research progress on the function of transcription factors in plant drought stress
Transcription factors(TFs)are multi-functional proteins that play a significant role in sensing stress sig-nals,responding to the expression of corresponding stress genes and transmitting stress signals.Drought is one of the ma-jor abiotic stresses that affect plant growth and development.In order to adapt to arid environments,plants have devel-oped complex molecular mechanisms in which TFs control multiple pathways simultaneously to regulate drought stress and are powerful tools for manipulating regulatory and stress response pathways.In recent years,the functions of an in-creasing number of plant TFs have been elucidated,understanding the function of TFs in drought stress is of important practical significance for the engineering drought resistance of plants.The functional research progress of the TFs in plant drought stress was reviewed,which will provide a theoretical basis for future research on the utilization of TFs and culti-vate plants with strong drought resistance.
