Isolation and identification of ergosterols with antimicrobial activity in the fermentation products of Mycosphaerella sp.HS-47
The secondary metabolites with antimicrobial activity were isolated from the fermentation products of My-cosphaerella sp.HS-47 derived from mangrove rhizosphere soil.Seven compounds were obtained from the EtOAc extract by means of various chromatographic techniques. The structures of the seven compounds were identified as ergost-7,9(11),22-trien-3β,5α,6α-triol(1);ergost-7,22-diene-3β,5α,6α-triol(2);6,9-epoxy-ergosta-7,22-dien-3-ol(3);3β,5α,9α-trihydroxy-(22E,24R)-ergosta-7,22-dien-6-one(4);22E-7α-methoxy-5α,6α-epoxyergosta-8(14),22-dien-3β-ol(5);5α,6α-epoxy-(22E,24R)-ergosta-8,22-dien-3β,7α-diol(6),and 3β,5α-dihydroxy-10α-meth-yl-6β-acetoxy-ergosta-7,22-diene(7),respectively,by comparison with spectroscopic data in the literature. The results of antimicrobial activity showed that compounds 1~7 have antimicrobial activity.Compound 5 and compound 6 have the most significant activity, with a minimum inhibitory concentration of 1.560 μg/mL for methicillin-resistant S.aureus ATCC43300.The ergosterols isolated from Mycosphaerella sp.HS-47 are reported for the first time, and they have varying degrees of antimicrobial activity.
