Research on Establishing the Railway Safety Sub-discipline in View of the Discipline System of Safety Science and Engineering
To promote the development of railway safety science theory and practice,based on the scientific system of safety discipline,this study explored the discipline positioning,connotation,research object and content system in the direction of railway safety sub-discipline.First,regarding the railway safety discipline,this study analyzed the main intersections and differences between safety,civil engineering and transportation engineering disciplines;and then indicated that this sub-dis-cipline direction is an interdisciplinary and comprehensive discipline with the fundamental goal of achieving intrinsic safety throughout the entire lifecycle of the railway system.Second,the basic issues such as the disciplinary connotation,knowl-edge foundation,and disciplinary attributes of the railway safety sub-discipline direction were analyzed.Moreover,the re-search objects and content system of this sub-discipline direction were systematically studied.Finally,the development ad-vices for this sub-discipline direction are elaborated from three aspects:the structured knowledge system of railway safety science,the safety technology system of railway systems,and the intersection and integration of safety science and new rail-way technologies.
