Development and Application of a Similar Simulation Test Device for Deformation and Failure of Mining-induced Slope
Aiming at issues such as the inability to freely adjust the angle between the rock stratum and the horizontal plane, the poor filling quality of similar materials, difficulties in simulating excavation of rock strata and coal seams with varying dip angles, the undesirable status of simulation rock layer, and unconspicuous experimental phenomena in the similar simula-tion test device for deformation and failure of mining-induced slope bodies,a similar simulation test device for deformation and failure of mining-induced slope was researched and developed. The deformation of a coal mine slope was taken as an ex-ample to carried out numerical simulations using the Universal Distinct Element Code(UDEC),and the test results were compared with those obtained from similar simulations. The results show that this device is applicable to similar simulation tests involving different dip angles of the rock strata, allowing for better simulation of rock layer conditions to meet the needs of various layer forms. The consistent results between the numerical simulation and the similar simulation validates the accura-cy,reliability,and universal applicability of the device.
