Wind Tunnel Experimental Study on the Effect of Diffusion of High-Risk Gases on Complex Terrain
Complex terrain has a significant effect on the diffusion of toxic and harmful gases. The move-ment law of high-sulfur gas in a gathering station un-der mountainous terrain during an accident leakage was studied.Environmental wind tunnel simulation experiments on gas diffusion distribution law under wind speed of 1 m/s and 2 m/s and 8 wind directions were carried out respectively, and gas concentration contour lines at different locations were obtained. The results showed that the near-field diffusion behavior of high sulfur gas under complex terrain was mainly dominated by wind field, while the far-field diffusion effect was obviously influenced by terrain.Wind tun-nel tests can provide reliable data for the risk assess-ment and emergency response of high-risk gas leakage and diffusion in the petrochemical industry.
