Experimental Study of the Effect of Fillers on the Properties of Sealing Materials for Breathing Valves
In view of the specific requirements of ef-ficient sealing materials for the tank breathing valve with frequent action and low sealing pre-pressure,modified fluoroprene (FKM) material was vulcanized with peroxide vulcanizing agent, and the composite diaphragm for sealing of the breathing valve was pre-pared by molding with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The effects of filler on the mechanical properties and sealing properties of the modified fluoroprene were investigated. The results showed that the hardness, tensile strength, tear deformation and aging resistance of the fluororubber were improved with the increase of filler dosage. The sealing performance of the composite diaphragm was tested after 24 h of loading and 5000 times of take-off action of the breathing valve. The re-sults showed that the sealing performance of the com-posite diaphragm was the best when the the proportion (phr) of the filler in every 100 parts of rubber was 24.
