Research on the influence mechanism of construction workers'safety behavior based on Meta-SEM
To sort out the antecedents of construction workers'safety behavior and analyze its influence mechanism,a theoretical model of the influence mechanism of construction worker'safety behavior was constructed. The model was based on the theory of herd motivation and planned behavior.Through this model, this study revealed the process of safety behavior of construction workers.Meta-Structural Equation Modeling(Meta-SEM)was used to clarify the interaction between each antecedent variable and the safety behavior of construction workers. In addition, exploring the moderating effect of enterprise-scale was also a top priority. The main data in this study derive from 128 independent samples from 64 empirical studies at home and abroad.Based on these data,we use Mplus and R studio software and Monte Carlo method to test the mediating and moderating effects. The research results show that from the individual level, the correlation coefficients of safety awareness, safety attitude, safety motivation, and safety behavior of construction workers are 0.663,0.513,and 0.509,respectively.At the organizational management level, the correlation coefficient between safety climate and safety behavior of construction workers is 0.678.Among the antecedent variables of construction workers'safety behavior, safety climate has the greatest influence.Safety awareness, safety attitude, and safety motivation are the mediating variables between the safety climate and safety behavior of construction workers.Safety motivation is an extremely important mediating variable in this study.Enterprise scale has a significant moderating effect on the relationship between safety awareness, safety motivation, safety climate, and safety behavior of construction workers, among which the impact of small and medium-sized enterprises was more significant. The conclusions of this study provide a theoretical basis for the follow-up study of construction workers'safety behavior and also provide a management basis for construction managers.
