Evacuation research considering panic pedestrians and multi-rescuers partitioned guidance
Pedestrians may experience a sense of panic in emergencies, which can affect their evacuation behavior. The guidance provided by the rescuer plays a crucial role in facilitating the evacuation of panicked pedestrians. To investigate the influence of multiple rescuers on the evacuation of panic pedestrians in emergencies, this paper establishes an extended cellular automaton model that takes into account panic pedestrians and the partitioned guidance of multiple rescuers. The model first considers the impact of pedestrian panic on evacuation, including introducing panic factors Pm(t)to quantify pedestrian panic, using the classic Susceptible-Infected-Recovered(SIR)epidemic model to simulate the spread of panic, and adjusting the movement model of pedestrians through panic factors. Then, the model considers the search strategies and movement rules adopted for partitioned guidance when multiple rescuers are present. Finally, the study utilizes model simulations to focus on analyzing the impact of panic emotion threshold λemo, the number of rescuers, and the location of the hazard source on the dynamics of evacuation. The results show that:(1)The panic emotion threshold λemo is a critical factor influencing panic propagation. As the emotional threshold increases, both the number of panic pedestrians and the speed of panic spread decrease, leading to an improvement in evacuation efficiency.(2)The guidance of the rescuer significantly enhances evacuation efficiency. When multiple rescuers are present, implementing partitioned guidance is more conducive to evacuation. However, once the number of rescuers exceeds a certain threshold, the improvement in evacuation efficiency becomes no longer significant.(3)Different locations of the hazard source lead to distinct processes of panic propagation and pedestrian evacuation. The hazard source affects the utilization rate of exits and entrances, thereby influencing the efficiency of evacuation.(4)If the number of rescuers is insufficient,it is necessary to judge whether the spread of panic can be quickly blocked in the early stage or whether the gathering place of panic pedestrians can be located according to the location of the hazard source and the process of panic transmission,to reasonably allocate and carry out regional rescue.
