Preparation and process optimization of straw stalk-coal based briquetted activated carbon
In order to reduce the preparation cost of briquetted crushed activated carbon, the rice straw char-coal and Datong non-caking coal were used as the main raw materials to prepare briquetted carbon through molding, carbonization and H2O(g)-CO2 co-activated molded carbon by coal blending technology. The crushed activated carbon prepared under different conditions were tested and characterized using iodine adsorption method, methylene blue adsorption method,BET,FTIR,and Boehm titration. The results show that the addi-tion of an appropriate amount of straw charcoal and the combined activation of H2O(g)-CO2 have a significant effect on increase of the iodine adsorption value and methylene blue adsorption value of activated carbon.Boehm titration results show that activated carbon is rich in acidic and basic functional groups. The iodine val-ue,methylene blue value, and specific surface area of the activated carbon prepared at an activation temper-ature of 900℃,activation time of 2.5 hours, and a flow rate ratio of H2O(g)to CO2 of 2 reached 790 mg/g,262 mg/g,and 809 m2/g,respectively.
