Imperial Writings Bestowed by the Emperors of Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong to Officials in the Qing Dynasty——Taking Zhang Tingyu,Er Tai and Zhang Zhao as an Example
Emperors of Kangxi,Yongzheng and Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty often bestowed imperial writings to the officials,including blessing characters,plaques,couplets and imperial poems,and there are also ancient books copiedpresented to them. Zhang Tingyu,Er tai and Zhang Zhao were different in the ruling time of Kan-gxi ,Yongzheng and Qianlong because of their different identities and the degree of trust and reliance of the em-peror. The imperial writings bestowed by the emperor were mainly to praise the officials to make the officials grateful to the emperor and make the officials diligent in government affairs and attentive for the official posts. The king bestowed his officials imperial writings as a political means to consolidate his rule.
