This research examines generative AI,like ChatGPT,in enhancing translations of Chinesenarratives for global audiences.Findings indicate ChatGPT improves coherence,adjusts register,andboosts syntactic com-plexity as directed.Analyzing content from China's global communicationwebsites shows that,while ChatGPT refines language and narrative flow,it poses challenges,includinginformation omission,cultural insensitivity,and potential narrative bias.The study underscores the need to balance AI use with translators'expertise to maintain content integrity.
