The Influence of Personality on Micro-blog Addiction in College Students:The Role of Fear of Missing Out
Objective:In order to explore the relationship between personality,Micro-blog addiction tendency and missing out of college students.Methods:Using NEO-FFI,Micro-blog Addiction Scale(MEUS)and Miss-ing anxiety scale,379 college students were selected as subjects to conduct a questionnaire survey.Bootstarp technology was used to test the mediating role of miss anxiety in the model.Results:The results showed that:(1)Among personality traits,there was a significant positive correlation between conscientiousness and Micro-blog addiction,except that there was no significant correlation between conscientiousness and Micro-blog addic-tion;(2)Neurotic and extroverted personality traits both positively predicted Micro-blog addiction of college students;Conscientiousness personality trait significantly negatively predicted college students'fault anxiety;(3)Missing out has a partial mediating effect on neurotic personality,extroverted personality and Micro-blog addiction in college students,and a complete mediating effect on conscientiousness personality and Micro-blog addiction in college students.Conclusion:The impact of missing anxiety levels on Micro-blog addiction behav-iors among college students is manifested differently due to variations in their individual personality traits.
