By utilizing corpus-based and critical discourse analysis methods to examine English news reports(201 1-2022),the analysis reveals that the volume of relevant reports correlates with hot events,with key topics including the Chinese legal system,legal reforms,and national governance.While both media types present a somewhat positive image construction,overseas outlets tend to depict a restrictive and outdated image,whereas domestic sources focus on portraying an active,progressive,and contemporary image of China's rule of law.The observed differences may relate to varying models and concepts of rule of law as well as distinct international communication frameworks.Recognition of China's rule of law development is closely tied to the practical achievements and the increasingly effective international communication strategies.Constructing the image of China's rule of law necessitates grounding efforts in the proactive advancements made,while also addressing divergent international perspectives with caution and enhancing its overseas communication capabilities.
