Effect of modified small incision resection on stress response, immune function, and inflammatory response in patients with thyroid tumor
Objective To explore the effect of modified small incision resection on stress response, immune function, and inflammatory response in patients with thyroid tumor.Method A total of 88 patients with thyroid tumor were divid-ed into control group(n=44)and observation group(n=44)according to different surgical methods. The patients in the control group were treated with traditional thyroidectomy, and the patients in the observation group were treated with modified small incision resection, and both groups were treated with comprehensive intervention. The surgery-related in-dexes,stress response indexes[total antioxidant capacity(TAC),norepinephrine(NE),cortisol],immune function(CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+),inflammatory response indexes[interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)]and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups.Result The surgical time, postoperative hospitaliza-tion time, and incision length in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group, the intra-operative bleeding was significantly less than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).Three days after surgery,TAC,NE,cortisol,IL-6,TNF-α in both groups were higher than those before surgery, the levels of TAC,NE,cortisol,IL-6,and TNF-α in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Three days after surgery, the levels of CD3+,CD4+,and CD4+/CD8+ in both groups were higher than those before the surgery, and the levels of CD8+ in both groups were lower than those be-fore the surgery, the levels of CD3+,CD4+,and CD4+/CD8+ in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the level of CD8+ was lower than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was 9.09%,which was lower than 29.55%in the con-trol group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared to traditional thyroidectomy, the application of modified small incision resection in thyroid tumor patients can significantly shorten the surgical and postoperative hospitalization time, reduce the impact on patient stress response, inflammatory response, and immune func-tion,promote postoperative recovery, and reduce the incidence of complications.
