Levels of serum miRNA-199a-5p and alpha-1-B-glycoprotein antisense RNA 1 in patients with brain glioma and their relationship with postoperative recurrence
Objective To detect the serum microRNA(miRNA)-199a-5p and alpha-1-B-glycoprotein antisense RNA 1(A1BG-AS1)levels in patients with brain glioma, and their relationship with postoperative recurrence of patients.Meth-od A total of 94 patients with brain glioma who received surgerical treatment and 84 healthy subjects were selected as study group and control group, respectively. All patients with brain glioma were followed up for 2 years after surgery, and were divided into recurrence group(n=71)and non-recurrence group(n=23)according to whether recurrence or not.The serum miRNA-199a-5p and A1BG-AS1 levels were detected by polymerase chain reaction(PCR),and serum miRNA-199a-5p and A1BG-AS1 levels were compared between the study group and the control group, and between the recur-rence group and non-recurrence group.Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between serum miRNA-199a-5p,A1BG-AS1 levels and postoperative recurrence of brain glioma patients. The receiver operating charac-teristic(ROC)curve was plotted and the area under the curve(AUC)was calculated to analyze the value of serum miR-NA-199a-5p and A1BG-AS1 single and combined detection in evaluating postoperative recurrence of patients with brain glioma.Result The serum miRNA-199a-5p level in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the serum A1BG-AS1 level was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).The serum miRNA-199a-5p level in the recurrence group was lower than that in the non-recurrence group, and the serum A1BG-AS1 level was higher than that in the non-recurrence group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Serum miRNA-199a-5p level was negatively correlated with postoperative recur-rence of brain glioma patients(r=-0.382,P<0.05),and serum A1BG-AS1 level was positively correlated with postopera-tive recurrence of glioma patients(r=0.423,P<0.05).ROC curve showed that the AUC and sensitivity of serum miRNA-199a-5p and A1BG-AS1 combined detection in evaluating postoperative recurrence of brain glioma patients were higher than those of single detection. Conclusion The level of serum miRNA-199a-5p is decreased and the level of serum A1BG-AS1 is increased in patients with brain glioma, and there expression levels are associated with postoperative recur-rence of brain glioma patients, combined detection has high value in evaluating postoperative recurrence.
