Expression of pyruvate kinase M2,hypoxia-inducible factor-1α in endometrial cancer tissues and their relationship with clinical characteristics of patients
Objective To investigate the expression of pyruvate kinase M2(PKM2),hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α)in endometrial cancer(EC)tissues and their relationship with clinical characteristics of patients.Method The EC tissues and adjacent paracancerous tissues from 41 patients with EC,and the normal endometrial tissues from 10 pa-tients with benign endometrial diseases were selected. The expression of PKM2 and HIF-1α were detected by immunohis-tochemical method. The positive expression rates of PKM2 and HIF-1α in EC tissues, paracancerous tissues and normal endometrial tissues were compared, and the expression of PKM2 and HIF-1α in EC tissues of EC patients with different clinical characteristics were compared.Result The positive expression rate of HIF-1α in EC tissues was significantly higher than that in paracancerous tissues and normal endometrial tissues, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).The positive expression rates of PKM2 in EC tissues of EC patients with p53-mutant and poorly differentiated were significantly higher than those in patients with p53-wild,medium and highly differentiated, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).The positive expression rate of HIF-1α in EC tissues of EC patients with vascular inva-sion was higher than that in patients without vascular invasion, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The positive expression rate of HIF-1α is high in EC tissues. The expression of PKM2 and HIF-1α are relat-ed to the clinical characteristics of EC patients, which may be effective therapeutic targets for EC patients.
