Objective To investigate the effects of transurethral bipolar plasma resection on operation related index-es,quality of life and long-term prognosis of patients with bladder cancer.Method A total of 107 patients with bladder cancer were divided into control group(n=53)and observation group(n=54)according to the different surgical methods. The patients in the control group were treated with partial cystectomy, and the patients in the observation group were treat-ed with transurethral bipolar plasma resection. The surgical related indicators, quality of life[European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer quality of life questionnaire core 30(EORTC QLQ-C30)],incidence of postoperative complications, and 2-year follow-up recurrence were compared between two groups.Result The surgical time,catheter-ization retention time, first time out of bed activity time, and postoperative hospitalization time in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).Three months after surgery, the scores of physical function, emotional function, social function, and cognitive function in both groups were higher than those before surgery, the scores of physical function, emotional function, social function, and cognitive function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were sta-tistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was 5.56%,which was lower than 18.87%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 2 years of postoperative follow-up,the recurrence rates of the observation group at 6 months,1 year, and 2 years after surgery were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Transurethral bipolar plasma resection for bladder cancer can shorten the catheter retention time and postoperative hospital stay, reduce the inci-dence of postoperative complications and recurrence, improve the quality of life, and help patients recover after surgery.
