Diagnostic value of MRI examination in T staging of colon cancer
Objective To explore the diagnostic value of MRI examination in T staging of colon cancer.Method Fifty-two patients with colon cancer who underwent MRI examination were selected.Using postoperative pathological re-sults as the gold standard, the diagnostic value of MRI examination in T staging of colon cancer was analyzed. The Kappa test was used to evaluate the consistency between the MRI examination result in T staging of colon cancer and postopera-tive pathological T stage.Result MRI examination of 52 patients with colon cancer showed that there were 17 cases of T2 stage,22 cases of T3 stage and 13 cases of T4 stage. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of MRI examination in the diagnosis of T2 stage colon cancer were 83.33%,94.12%,90.38%,88.24%and 91.43%,respectively.The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of MRI examination in the diagnosis of T3 stage colon cancer were 81.82%,86.67%,84.62%,81.82%and 86.67%,respectively.The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of MRI exami-nation in the diagnosis of T4 stage colon cancer were 91.67%,95.00%,94.23%,84.62%and 97.44%,respectively.The re-sults of MRI examination in the diagnosis of T2 and T4 stage colon cancer had good consistency with pathological exami-nation results(Kappa=0.785,0.842),and the results of MRI examination in the diagnosis of T3 stage colon cancer had general consistency with pathological examination results(Kappa=0.685).Conclusion MRI examination has a high di-agnostic value for T stage of colon cancer, and it has the highest diagnostic value for T4 stage.
