Objective To explore the effect of compound Banmao capsule combined with intensity-modulated radio-therapy on immune function and quality of life in patients with rectal cancer.Method A total of 87 patients with rectal cancer were divided into control group(n=43,intensity-modulated radiotherapy)and study group(n=44,compound Ban-mao capsule combined with intensity-modulated radiotherapy)by random number table method.The clinical efficacy,im-mune function indexes(CD3+,CD4+,CD8+),quality of life[Karnofsky performance status(KPS)score]and the occur-rence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Result The disease control rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the lev-els of CD3+and CD4+in both groups were higher than those before treatment,and the levels of CD8+were lower than those before treatment,the levels of CD3+and CD4+in the study group were higher than those in the control group,and the level of CD8+was lower than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Af-ter treatment,the KPS scores in both groups were higher than those before treatment,and the KPS score in the study group was higher than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Com-pound Banmao capsule combined with intensity-modulated radiotherapy in the treatment of rectal cancer patients not on-ly can improve clinical efficacy and quality of life,but also can improve immune function,and has high safety.
