Application effect of enteral immunonutrition therapy in patients with esophageal cancer undergoing radiotherapy
Objective To explore the application effect of enteral immunonutrition therapy in patients with esopha-geal cancer undergoing radiotherapy.Method A total of 106 patients with esophageal cancer who received radiotherapy were divided into conventional group(n=53,conventional nutritional therapy)and immune group(n=53,enteral immuno-nutrition therapy)according to different nutritional treatment methods. The clinical efficacy, inflammatory response index-es[procalcitonin(PCT),C-reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6)],nutritional in-dexes[total protein(TP),transferrin(TRF),prealbumin(PAB),albumin(ALB)],immune function indexes[immunoglob-ulin(Ig)G,IgM,IgA,CD3+and CD4+/CD8+],adverse reactions and prognostic indicators[body mass index,patient-gen-erated subjective global assessment(PG-SGA)score and European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer quality of life questionnaire core 30(EORTC QLQ-C30)score]of the two groups were compared.Result The clinical efficacy of the immune group was better than that of the conventional group, and the total effective rate was higher than that of the conventional group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of CRP,PCT,IL-6,TNF-α,TRF,ALB,PAB and TP in both groups were higher than those before treatment, and the levels of CRP,PCT,IL-6 and TNF-α in immune group were lower than those in conventional group, the levels of TRF,ALB,PAB and TP were higher than those in conventional group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treat-ment,the levels of IgG,IgM,IgA,CD3+and CD4+/CD8+in immune group were higher than those in conventional group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in immune group was low-er than that in conventional group(P<0.05).After treatment, the body mass indexes and EORTC QLQ-C30 scores in both groups were higher than those before treatment, the PG-SGA scores were lower than those before treatment, the body mass index and EORTC QLQ-C30 score in immune group were higher than those in conventional group, the PG-SGA score was lower than that in conventional group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion En-teral immunonutrition therapy can improve the clinical efficacy, reduce the degree of inflammatory response, improve nu-tritional status and immune function, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, and thus improve the prognosis of pa-tients with esophageal cancer undergoing radiotherapy.
