Influence of self-efficacy education on self-efficacy and quality of life in patients with refractory cancer pain treated with intrathecal drug delivery system
Objective To explore the influence of self-efficacy education on self-efficacy and quality of life in pa-tients with refractory cancer pain treated with intrathecal drug delivery system(IDDS).Method According to different intervention methods,80 patients with refractory cancer pain treated with IDDS were divided into observation group(n=47)and control group(n=33).The control group received routine intervention, while the observation group received self-efficacy education on the basis of routine intervention. The psychological status[symptom check list-90(SCL-90)],dis-tress level,self-efficacy,quality of life[European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer quality of life ques-tionnaire core 30(EORTC QLQ-C30)],and satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Result After interven-tion,the SCL-90 and distress scale scores of both groups were lower than those before intervention, the SCL-90 and dis-tress scale scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistical-ly significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the symptom management and disease common management scores of the two groups were higher than those before intervention, the symptom management and disease common management scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of all fields of EORTC QLQ-C30 scales in both groups were higher than those before intervention, the scores of all fields of EORTC QLQ-C30 scale in the observation group were higher than those in the con-trol group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction rate in the observation group was 95.74%,which was not statistically significant compared to 81.82%in the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion Self-efficacy education can significantly improve the psychological status of patients with refractory cancer pain undergoing IDDS treatment, enhance their self-efficacy and quality of life, and reduce the degree of distress.
