Expression and clinical significance of serum total oxidation status and total antioxidant status in patients with surgically resectable advanced gastric cancer
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of serum total oxidation status(TOS)and total antioxidant status(TAS)in patients with surgically resectable advanced gastric cancer.Method A total of 140 patients with advanced gastric cancer who underwent surgery and 140 healthy subjects were selected as the observation group and healthy group, respectively.Serum TOS and TAS levels of the two groups were detected by spectrophotometer, and the oxidative stress index(OSI)was calculated. The TOS,TAS and OSI in observation group and healthy group were compared, and the TOS,TAS and OSI in observation group before and after operation were also compared. The advanced gastric cancer patients were divided into abdominal infection group(n=20)and non-abdominal infection group(n=120)according to postoperative abdominal infection, and the TOS,TAS and OSI were compared between the two groups.Pear-son correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between TOS,TAS and OSI.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve and area under the curve(AUC)were used to analyze the predictive efficacy of TOS and TAS single and combined detection for postoperative abdominal infection in patients with advanced gastric cancer.Result The TOS and OSI in observation group were significantly higher than those in healthy group, the TAS was significantly lower than that in healthy group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).After operation, the TOS and OSI in observa-tion group were higher than those before operation, the TAS was lower than that before operation, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The TOS and OSI in abdominal infection group were significantly higher than those in non-abdominal infection group, the TAS was significantly lower than that in non-abdominal infection group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).TOS was positively correlated with OSI(r=0.391,P<0.01).TAS was negatively correlated with OSI(r=-0.388,P<0.01).The AUC of TOS and TAS combined detection was the largest in predicting postoperative abdominal infection of patients with advanced gastric cancer, and the sensitivity and negative pre-dictive value of TOS and TAS combined detection were higher than those of single detection. Conclusion The TOS and OSI are high and TAS is low in patients with advanced gastric cancer, which are closely related to postoperative abdomi-nal infection. The combined detection of TOS and TAS has high predictive efficacy for postoperative abdominal infection in patients with advanced gastric cancer.
