Objective To explore the diagnostic value of serum miRNA-34a combined with thin-prep cytology test(TCT)for early cervical cancer.Method A total of 96 suspected early cervical cancer patients were selected, and all pa-tients underwent TCT detection and serum miRNA-34a level detection.Using pathological examination results as the gold standard, the diagnostic value of serum miRNA-34a combined with TCT detection for early cervical cancer was eval-uated.The consistency between the results of serum miRNA-34a combined with TCT detection in the diagnosis of early cervical cancer and pathological examination was evaluated by Kappa test.Result The pathological examination result showed that among the 96 suspected early cervical cancer patients,68 cases were cervical cancer, serving as the cervical cancer group;28 cases of non-cervical cancer, including 10 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)1,13 cases of CIN2,and 5 cases of CIN3,were classified as CIN1 group,CIN2 group, and CIN3 group, respectively. The difference in serum miRNA-34a level between cervical cancer group and various CIN groups was statistically significant(P<0.01),and the cervical cancer group<CIN3 group<CIN2 group<CIN1 group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of serum miRNA-34a combined with TCT detection for the diagnosis of early cervical cancer were 95.59%,89.29%,93.75%,95.59%,and 89.29%,respectively,showed high consistency with pathological examination results(Kappa=0.849).Conclusion The level of miRNA-34a in early cervical cancer patients decrease, and the combination of serum miRNA-34a and TCT detec-tion has high diagnostic value for early cervical cancer.
