Objective To investigate the effects of health education on cancer-related fatigue and quality of life in el-derly patients with colon cancer undergoing chemotherapy.Method According to the different intervention methods,120 elderly patients with colon cancer who underwent chemotherapy were divided into observation group(59 cases)and control group(61 cases). The control group received routine intervention, and the observation group received health edu-cation intervention. The cancer-related fatigue[cancer fatigue scale(CFS)],quality of life[functional assessment of can-cer therapy-general(FACT-G)],occurrence of adverse reactions and satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Result After intervention, the dimensional scores of CFS and the scores of FACT-G in two groups were lower than those before intervention, the dimensional scores of CFS and the score of FACT-G in observation group were lower than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in observation group was lower than that in control group, and the total satisfaction rate was higher than that in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Health education can effectively reduce the degree of cancer-related fatigue in elderly patients with colon cancer undergoing chemotherapy, improve the quality of life and satisfaction, and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
