Effect of self-efficacy intervention on compliance and coping style of patients with gastric cancer undergoing chemotherapy
Objective To investigate the effects of self-efficacy intervention on compliance and coping style of pa-tients with gastric cancer undergoing chemotherapy.Method A total of 95 patients with gastric cancer who underwent chemotherapy were divided into control group(47 cases)and observation group(48 cases)according to different interven-tion methods.Patients in control group received routine intervention, and patients in observation group received self-effi-cacy intervention on the basis of control group.Self-efficacy[general self-efficacy scale(GSES)],coping style[medical coping modes questionnaire(MCMQ)],compliance and incidences of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Result After intervention,GSES scores in both groups were higher than those before intervention, and GSES score in observation group was higher than that in control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the face dimension scores of both groups were higher than those before intervention, and the avoid-ance and yield dimension scores were lower than those before intervention, and the face dimension score in the observa-tion group was higher than that in the control group, while the avoidance and yield dimension scores were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total compliance rate of the observa-tion group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The incidences of nausea and vomiting, rash and leukopenia in observation group were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The self-efficacy intervention in patients with gastric cancer undergoing chemotherapy can enhance self-efficacy,promote patients to adopt positive coping methods, improve compliance, reduce adverse reactions, and have clinical application value.
